Ingredients

For Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup soft butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup castor sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups plain flour (maida)
a pinch of salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup roughly chopped walnuts (akhrot)
Method

  1. To make chocolate chip cookies recipe, combine the butter, brown sugar and castor sugar in a deep bowl and mix well using a spatula.
  2. Add the egg, vanilla extract and baking soda. Whisk well using a whisk.
  3. Sieve the plain flour and salt in the same bowl and mix well.
  4. Add ¾ cup chocolate chips, walnuts and combine it well to form a dough.
  5. Divide and roll the dough into 16 equal portions and place them on a lined baking tray.
  6. Apply the remaining chocolate chips evenly over each cookie dough.
  7. Bake them in a pre heated oven at 180° c ( 360 °f) for 20 to 25 minutes or until perfectly baked.

I have oven but there is no option for convection.. pls tell me the actual time for cookies in oven

Tarla Dalal    Each oven is slightly different. You can bake them for 30 minutes and check for doneness. Ensure that the oven is pre-heated.

The recipe is excellent! Is it possible to freeze the dough prepared in this recipe? If yes, what would be the method to freeze and later on baking out of that dough?

Tarla Dalal    Thank you for your feedback. You can keep the dough in the refrigerator (not deep freezer) for 4 to 5 days by wrapping in a cling wrap. Before making cookies, remove it and keep it at room temperature for about half an hour.

The second time with walnuts it came out well but I only baked for ten mins if I did more it got burnt

Hi , I tried this recipe but it’s getting burnt after 10 mins. Is there any video where I can get some help from ? Also I didn’t use walnuts as no one in my family likes them would that be the reason ?

Lovely chocolate chip cookies. Spread the batter out as the cookies will expand while baking. Ration the amount you give your kids or you will have to bake another round of cookies.
